It made me sad that they had to conform to societys or their familys idea of gender identity. When I started college in 2007, I temporarily moved to the middle of nowhere in Missouri. After a less than two years I ended up moving back to Germany to be with my family. During my brief time in the United States, specifically, Missouri, I met a guy who was openly gay when he was with his friends, but had to live a separate life when he went home. He invited me to his parents house one weekend when the dorms closed for the holiday weekend and during the entire 1.5-hour drive he briefed me on how I could never mention anything about him being gay. He even mentioned that he told his parents I was an ex-girlfriend that theyd never met so it would be more believable. I was so incredibly sad that in 2007 he wasnt able to be himself 100%. In fact, as I am writing this paper, I decided to search for him on Facebook and found out that he no longer is in contact with his family but he did share with them that he is gay. Due to my womanly reproductive issues, I could honestly say 100% I didnt have a preference, I just was so excited to be a mother. Ive known friends that have been utterly disappointed when they were hoping for one sex and got the other and never understood why, especially because becoming a parent in the first place is the most amazing experience, at least to me. Anyways, sure enough, my instinct was right, the other side of the family gifted us with sports gear and name brand athletic wear, along with lots of blue everything and a dash of green. I was so scared that this was it, my son wouldnt have a choice in any other shades except for boy, dude and bro. I distinctly remember my mom purchasing a two-piece outfit with khaki shorts and a polo shirt. It was the cutest outfit and the best part about it was the polo shirt was pale pink. When it finally fit my son, I paraded him around in it because the shade of pink really made his blue eyes pop and his strawberry blonde hair stand out. The cool pink and purples definitely complemented his skin and hair color just like his momma. I remember hearing a comment from the other side of the family saying that pink shirts are not for boys. I let the comment roll off my back because my little one was still an infant and he did not understand their ignorance. Another incident was during a visitation from his bio dad. I wasnt around but my mom mentioned it because she had to correct the statement and behavior. My son absolutely loves dramatic play. He loves to dress up as different people or animals and pretend play. Its been the best moment of toddlerhood so far and we (my family and I) totally encourage it. During the supervised visitation with my parents, my son decided to put on my sisters floral kimono, grab her purse and pretend to be her, his aunt. Through provocative movements and swift arm gestures, the dancers of the Flamenco are able to tell a story passed down from generations. The importance of the Flamenco dance roots from within a melting pot of cultures that joined together in the form of art, movement, and music. Flamenco dance, or baile, is a dancer’s outward expression of his/her most profound emotions. The dance isn’t considered a technical performance, but more a way to express duende, a passion or feeling felt in flamenco. Flamenco has many characteristics that make up its evolutionary charisma. There are 4 main types of flamenco styles. The first is Jondo/grande, which is the deep profound flamenco. This kind is the â€Å"serious† style and is often compared to Blues music. It is a very interpretive style of dance, and is often times one of the hardest to interpret. With its intense duende and deep rhythmic movements, Jondo is not about mastering technique, but mastering the dancer’s emotions. Another type of Flamenco, which is less intense, is Flamenco intermedio. This is just a less difficult version than flamenco Jondo, and the movements are more swift and simple. It can have an oriental cast to the music, and is a less profound meaning than Flamenco Jondo. Flamenco chico, is the lightest of these three. It is a dance about lighter, more relatable subjects such as love, humor, and happiness. The tango is a form of chico Flamenco, as well as alegrias and bulerias. Popular Flamenco is a combination of all three types of Flamenco, and is the least pure form. The Killing Game The article that I chose for writing my paper is called, The Killing Game. The author of this article is Robert Cribb. Written on April 25,1999, Toronto Star. This article deals with how children and young youth are being influenced by violent video games, Internet and movies to do crime, and even to kill. This article talks about how violence from fantasy games and movies transforms the minds of children into believing that it is reality. In this article we come across many incidents that have happened, where a teenager in rage comes to school, and without any control of his mind shoots his classmates and teachers. Doctors that study media-violence believe that violent games, movies and Internet contribute to violence among teens today. When a child is growing up, who is isolated from the society, and the only activity that he/she does is play video games that are violent in some form, shows that when they do grow up, they will be affected by it in one way or another. The sociological concept that I chose that best fits my article is Deviance. Sociologists use the term deviance to refer to any violation of norms whether the infraction is as minor as jaywalking, or as serious as murder. This deceptively simple definition takes us to the heart of the sociological perspective of deviance, which sociologist Howard S. Becker identified this way: it is not the act itself, but the reactions to the act, that make something deviant. In other words, peoples behaviors must be viewed from the framework of the culture in which they take place. To be considered deviant, a person may not even have to do anything. Sociologist Erving Goffman used the term stigma to refer to attributes that describe people. These attributes include violation of the norms of ability such as blindness, deafness, and mental retardation, and the norms of appearance such as a facial birthmark and obesity. They also include involuntary membership in-groups, such as being a victim of aids or the brother of a rapist. The stigma becomes a persons master status, defining him or her as deviant. We experienced journeying into the unknown parts of the Philippines, from Kalookan, to Fairview, to Malabon, Tondo, and other places we thought we’d never go to. We experienced doing things that was very alien to us like using a Stenographic Typewriter, reading SCRA and SCRI, talking with other lawyers (in English), interviewing clients, and many others. Also the Flexible time, for someone like me, it was really germane. I wonder where I could find another office that has a flexible time and still pays me for a whole day. I also experienced being scolded by a court sheriff for taking pictures inside the court room. It was a very embarrassing experience, albeit a good and funny one. In fact, this is one of the reason I would never forget being in the Opis. Being with great and funny supervisors really made our stay in the Opis very worthwhile; in fact I don’t mind the transportation fee, because when I’m in the Opis, it feels like I’m also at home. Problem Statement   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  My task was to find 3 equations, that would give me an answer, if I had certain information. The first was to find one that if you knew that there were four pegs on the boundary, and none on the interior, you could get the area. The second was if you knew that there were 4 pegs on the boundary, and you knew how many were on the interior, you could get the area. And last, if you had the number on the interior, and the number on the boundary, you could get the area.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Process   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The first two equations, were a preparation for the final, building up towards the complete idea. This helped, because I could complete the first two pretty quickly. For Freddie I drew a 3 column T-Table, with a drawing of the figure, the number of Pegs (in), and the Area (out). I looked for a pattern between the in and the out, and quickly found one that made sense, and I worked it into a formula. I got X/2-1=Y. Where X is IN (number of pegs) and Y is OUT (Area). This works in all shapes with no interior pegs, like Freddie described. The African American community, in contrast to the rest of Norco and Louisiana, is historically afflicted with higher rates of cancer and asthma related deaths (Margie 01:19:29:20 ), and more prone to birth defects (Wilma Subra 01:18:09:03 ).
